Wildwood Heights Neighborhood Map

Commissioned for the Wildwood Heights Neighborhood Association’s hundredth anniversary, this map covers roughly 1.5 square miles at a scale of 1:9,600 — close enough to 1 inch representing 800 feet that every named street, footpath, and the neighborhood’s eleven public stairways could be labeled legibly at 24 × 36 inches.

The base survey came from public GIS parcel data, cross-checked on foot over three site visits to confirm footpath connections the official data missed entirely. All linework was inked by hand at twice final size and scanned, with lettering set afterward to keep the hand-drawn quality of the street grid while keeping type genuinely legible at arm’s length.

Five hundred prints were produced for the centennial mailing, with the original inked plate retained by the studio and a giclée reproduction gifted to the association’s community hall.
